She ~ 30 Waking up from a dreamless sleep, I stretched my arms out and grabbed my phone in the meantime, checking the time. It was 9:00, no notifications, messages, or missed calls. I threw my legs over the edge of the bed, pushing myself up and walking out the door, into the living room to see my dad trying to cook but smoke was coming from the pan. "Dad!" I ran into the kitchen and turned on the fan and opened the windows, letting the smoke leave the house and turning the stove off. He slumped his shoulders, "I'm sorry. I tried to cook but we all know how that worked out." He said, disappointed in himself. "It's okay dad. I'll make some cereal." I laughed to myself at how childish he could be, like a kid who cried over spilled milk. I grabbed some cereal from the cabinet, and the milk out of the fridge, smelling it and nearly gagging. "How long has it been since you went grocery shopping?" I asked him, checking the date of the rotton milk. "Um... is it bad that I don't remember?" He asked, his eyebrows raising. I rolled my eyes and dumped out the milk... or now chunky white stuff that used to be milk... and threw the container away."Toast it is." I sighed, grabbing the hopefully not outdated bread and popping it in the toaster. I leaned on the counter, watching whatever my dad was watching while I waited for the toast. Once I heard the dinger go off, making me jump, I grabbed it and a napkin, not bothering with a plate since it was just toast. "How about I give you some ...
